Analysis on characteristics and reactivtion mechanism of secondary landslides in the front part of the Xijitan Giant Landslide, Guide Basin

    • The upper reaches of the Yellow River is located on the northeast edge of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau with intense tectonic activity, and its complex geological conditions have nurtured a large number of geological disasters such as landslides and collapses. This article takes the secondary landslides at the front part of Xijitan landslide on the north side of Jiangla Village, Garang Township, Guide County, Qinghai Province as the research object. Using unmanned aerial vehicle aerial survey, InSAR surface displacement monitoring, and on-site investigation methods, the geological environment conditions, development characteristics, and genetic mechanism of the landslide are analyzed in detail. It is found that the secondary landslides at the front edge of Xijitan landslide is currently in the state of deformation reactivation. Research has shown that densely developed structural planes play a controlling role in the reactivation of secondary landslides, and concentrated rainfall is a key factor inducing landslide reactivation. The freeze-thaw cycle is an important influencing factor for landslide reactivation.By analyzing the landslide, a scientific basis is provided for the prevention and reduction of the landslide disaster chain in the upper reaches of the Yellow River.
